Terms & Conditions

My name is Miss Rachael, I am the Principal of Anita Murray School of Dancing. Our school was first established by my mother Anita in 1969,

making us one of the longest-running and best-known dance schools in the local

area. We have been teaching and nurturing children in the joy of dance

for over 50 years.

After gaining my qualifications I danced professionally in the UK and abroad, before

returning to teach for the school. With over 20 years of teaching

experience to my name, I now oversee all aspects of our school, with help from

my team.

Our teachers are highly qualified members of the RAD (Royal Academy of

Dance), ISTD (International Society of Teachers of Dancing), and Acrobatic

Arts. All teachers hold their DBS and most are first-aid trained.

This ensures that students are taught to the highest levels and all safety

standards are adhered to.

Starting from age 3, classes are available in Ballet, Tap, Modern,

Commercial, Acro, Lyrical/Contemporary, Pointe, Street, Boys Street and Musical

Theatre. Private Lessons are also available, please ask!

Classes are currently held at Primrose Gardens in Chorley.

Many of our former students now work professionally as dancers, singers,

actors, or teachers, and some have appeared in theatre and television

productions nationwide. Of course, not every child will go into this line

of work, but by attending our dance school, we hope they'll gain confidence,

learn new skills, make friends, and most importantly, have lots of fun!

I hope you enjoy your time with us, and we look forward to helping you

fulfil your dreams and ambitions!

TERMS & CONDITIONS

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ OUR TERMS & CONDITIONS LISTED BELOW, BEFORE

COMPLETING AND SUBMITTING THIS ENROLMENT & CONSENT FORM.

Child protection laws

Teachers adhere strictly to all child

protection policies, and we ask that parents do the same. No photography

or filming of any of the children can be undertaken without the strict

permission of the principal.

Physical contact

There will be times when

postural and technical corrections need to be made by physical contact, and

this will of course be kept to a minimum. However, it is impossible to

teach dance without any physical contact, and we'd like to make parents aware

of this. We also have the issue of taking children to the toilet during

the time they are with us. If children are not able to take themselves to

the toilet, teaching staff will assist where necessary.

Uniform

Once your child is happy and

established within their class(es), uniform must be worn for all lessons.

This is available from Adele Bannister on 07753 959 446. Students' hair

must be securely tied and off their face during lessons. Jewellery is not

permitted at any time. You will be notified of any hair and/or makeup

requirements for exams and/or show performances as and when required.

Examinations

Dance examinations cover correct

technical training, theory, performance value, and confidence-building - all of

which are required to become a competent and accomplished dancer.

Students can, should you wish, be entered for RAD, ISTD, and LAMDA exams.

Exam entry is not compulsory. You will be notified of examination fees in

advance of entry.

All students are encouraged to

reach their own personal goals and individual potential. Home practice is

essential if students want to be successful in reaching their targets.

Discipline is expected in the studio, and a good attitude towards their work,

classmates and staff is expected at all times….we will always treat them with respect.

Shows and competitions

Parents will be informed of any

upcoming events.

Absences / Illness or injuries

We would be grateful if you

could inform us if your child will be absent from class. Teachers need to

be told if your child is feeling unwell or has an injury, prior to them taking

class. Please provide details of any relevant medical issues, and of any

medication your child is taking that they may need to administer themselves.

Fees and payments

We operate during school term

time (40 weeks). Our fees are charged on a pro-rata basis, spread out

over 12 months. For example, if your child takes a class, this will

be multiplied by 40 weeks and then divided by 12 months to give you your

monthly payment, discount will be added for multiple classes individually.

New starters / settling in

You will be notified of the correct fee once this form has been

submitted and your start date and enrolment confirmed.

Please note we required 1 months’ written notice, by email.

GDPR

We collect the minimal amount of personal information about you and your

child necessary for us to operate safely. All information is held

securely and is not shared with any external organisations.

Social Media

We operate a closed private group for parents to join. This group

is where all the latest news and information is posted, and so we do encourage

those who are Facebook users to join, so as not to miss out on any updates.

We also run a public page, and would really appreciate it if you could

like, follow, and share our updates!
